As a consulting firm, ALO regularly completes a wide variety
of tasks for clients who need to comply with federal laws, such as the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) and the National
Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), as well as state-level laws across the country.
In addition to a broad array of cultural
resources management (CRM) services, including nominations of historic properties to the National Register of Historic Places,
ALO also manages environmental assessment (EA) and environmental impact statement (EIS) projects.

Our customized
capabilities support due-diligence & planning efforts as we routinely devise sensitivity models to help clients identify
areas of low, medium, and high potential for historic properties - significant archaeological sites and standing structures,
or traditional cultural properties - within their project areas. We constantly test our models through field surveys and inventories.
Our sensitivity models can help clients during their decision-making in regard to real-estate purchases. These models
may also help streamline the planning process by mapping out locations for possible avoidance.
ALO also contributes
to comprehensive & master planning efforts, particularly through background research & literature reviews. Dr. Ollendorf
also has authored or participated in the development of several cultural resources management plans.

Dr. Ollendorf
was a team member for a marketing plan designed to encourage economic development along a Scenic Byway in the Minnesota River
Valley. ALO hopes to further help individual communities combine eco- & heritage tourism with "smart growth"
practices as redevelopment & new development are contemplated.
Toward the goal of supporting economic development
that is environmentally sustainable, ALO offers interpretation & education services. For example, Dr. Ollendorf can prepare
text for interpretive panels and exhibits; she is also available for training & other educational opportunities, such
as teaching in college & community education settings.
